Peter M. MacVean

Managing Director

Peter M. MacVean is Managing Director of the Glover Group LLC, Washington, D.C. He is also the founder and Senior Partner of PK Associates, LLC. In 2004 and 2005, Mr. MacVean served as Managing Director for Citigate Global Intelligence, a worldwide consulting firm. Mr. MacVean also did consulting work for Kroll Associates, an international investigative and risk management company.

Mr. MacVean has more than forty years of experience in law enforcement management, security, risk management, investigations and business controls consulting, along with an extensive practical background in technical surveillance. He also assists companies in the development of marketing strategies in the public and private sectors. Mr. MacVean has worked on investigations and consulted on security matters involving Fortune 100 and 500 companies throughout the world; directed complex, long-term, internal and external investigations; worked as a security consultant for many firms with both national and international clientele; and assisted in the management of a brand integrity program for a major company. He was responsible for establishing standards of physical, personnel, and information security currently in use by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Mr. MacVean was a career law enforcement officer with the DEA for more than twenty-six years. At the time of his retirement, Mr. MacVean was the Assistant Special Agent-in-Charge (ASAC) of the New Orleans Field Division. In his capacity as ASAC, he commanded an enforcement division that was responsible for the investigation of complex criminal conspiracies within a four-state area adjacent to the Gulf of Mexico. For more than five years of his career, Mr. MacVean was DEA’s Director of Security Programs, during which time his responsibilities included the management of security of more than 250 facilities around the world, the clearances and safety of over 10,000 employees, and the protection of DEA’s most sensitive information.

During his DEA tenure, Mr. MacVean was appointed Chair of the Data Task Team for the Executive Office of the President. The Data Task Team successfully developed and led the implementation of a national system to protect sensitive information developed and used by law enforcement and intelligence agencies. He was also instrumental in the establishment of the National Technical Investigator’s Association. He remained a member of the Board of Directors for more than eleven years.

Mr. MacVean has lectured to U.S. Intelligence agencies and has taught at numerous government schools in the U.S. and Latin America on matters of security. He is an internationally recognized expert in the field of technical investigative methods and has testified in civil and criminal matters at both the State and Federal levels.
